SNAP Outreach

Through a contract with the Louisiana Department of Health, Feeding Louisiana places dedicated SNAP Outreach Coordinators at each of the state’s five regional food banks. These coordinators help neighbors understand how SNAP works, determine if they may be eligible, and complete applications and recertifications. They also partner with community organizations, clinics, and schools to offer outreach events, one-on-one assistance, and clear, factual information that counters myths and helps break the stigma too often associated with receiving SNAP. By making SNAP easier to access and more widely accepted, this partnership helps more Louisiana families put nutritious food on the table.
