Feeding Louisiana’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan outlines a bold, unified vision to strengthen hunger relief across the state. Rooted in a newly revised mission—one that more clearly reflects the organization’s evolving role as a statewide leader—this plan positions Feeding Louisiana to advocate more effectively, expand access to nutritious food, align the statewide food bank network, and elevate the voices of those most impacted by food insecurity.

This Strategic Plan was shaped by an inclusive assessment process that included surveys of staff, stakeholders, board members, and Louisiana’s five regional food banks. The survey report, completed in the Summer of 2025, gathered insights from 26 respondents across four groups. Quantitative questions were measured on a rating scale, and qualitative responses were analyzed for common themes; representative quotes were included without attribution. This mixed-methods approach provided both data and context, capturing opportunities, concerns, and shared priorities. The survey findings affirmed the need for clearer statewide coordination, stronger advocacy, improved communication systems, and deeper investment in food and health partnerships, all of which are reflected in this plan.

Throughout the strategic planning process, Feeding Louisiana also engaged in important work to clarify and revise its mission statement. Feedback from leaders statewide underscored that the organization must be positioned not only as a convener, but as a driver of statewide solutions—leveraging partnerships, advocating for change, and strengthening the capacity of food banks and communities. The updated mission directly supports the direction and priorities set forth in this plan.
