Feeding Louisiana Launches

Inaugural Class of Hunger Action Ambassadors

Feeding Louisiana is proud to announce the inaugural class of Hunger Action Ambassadors—a new, statewide network of community leaders committed to turning concern about hunger into sustained, informed action.

Louisiana’s hunger challenge is urgent, but it is not inevitable. We know what works: smart public policy, strong community partnerships, and steady investment in solutions that help families access nutritious food. What we also know is that decision-makers are most responsive when they hear directly from the people they serve—constituents, neighbors, caregivers, veterans, students, faith leaders, business owners, and volunteers who can speak to what food insecurity looks like in real life and what it takes to fix it.

That is exactly what Hunger Action Ambassadors will do.

This inaugural cohort represents communities from across the state and brings together individuals with a shared belief: Louisiana can do better—and we can do it together. Over the coming months, Ambassadors will receive training and tools to strengthen their advocacy skills, including how hunger relief systems work, how state and federal policy decisions impact families, and how to communicate effectively with elected officials and agency leaders. They will learn how to use data responsibly, tell stories with dignity, and show up as credible, consistent voices for solutions that are practical, bipartisan, and implementation-ready.

Ambassadors will also serve as a bridge between local experience and statewide action. They will help elevate what’s working in communities, identify barriers families face when trying to access assistance, and support Feeding Louisiana and our network of regional food banks as we advocate for policies that reduce hunger and improve health outcomes.

We are grateful to each Ambassador for stepping forward. Advocacy is not a one-day event. It is a long-term commitment to showing up, building relationships, and speaking with clarity and purpose. The Hunger Action Ambassadors program is designed to support that kind of leadership, and we are excited to see what this group will accomplish for Louisiana.
