Mary brings a mixture of non-profit advocacy and campaign field organizing and management experience to her position at Feeding Louisiana. In her work with at-risk populations, she worked predominantly with unhoused families and children. As Outreach Coordinator at Colfax Community Network, in Aurora, Colorado, Mary was tasked with running a pilot program for a Children's Summer Food Program. This summer food and activity program is still operating with more than 30 sites each summer.  Upon returning home to Lafayette, Louisiana, Mary went to work at Catholic Charities of Lafayette in direct services with unhoused individuals. In this role, she assisted clients with basic needs while working toward housing solutions. Throughout, she also managed field campaigns for multiple candidates. Taking a break from work, Mary went back to school in 2016 to complete her bachelor's degree in strategic communication and went on to complete her master's degree while also working with unhoused people in Lafayette through Acadiana Regional Coalition on Homelessness and Housing (ARCH). In this role, Mary developed ShareHouse, a program that helped newly housed families and individuals attain the basics for cooking, eating, bathing, and sleeping including furniture, linens, and kitchen necessities. Recognizing that in her previous roles, food insecurity was a constant problem, she hopes to help improve programs meant to alleviate food insecurity in her role at Feeding Louisiana.

Mary completed her bachelor's and master’s degrees in strategic communication at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for CASA  SOLA, and is an active community organizer in Lafayette. Mary is a Lafayette native, and she and her husband returned home in 2014 to be closer to her mother and sisters. Their two grown children live in Kansas and Colorado, where Mary and her husband and their dog Lucy visit regularly.
